Duped Vehicle Sell Value

When you dupe a vehicle in GTA Online, the sell price you get is not the same as selling the original car. Here’s how duped vehicle sell value actually works—and why some cars are much better to dupe than others.

Why Does My Dupe Sell for Less Than the Car I Duped?

When you run a duplication glitch, the game is tricked into thinking the vehicle you’re selling is the donor car used in the glitch—usually a Faggio, Elegy, or something cheap. Because of that, you don’t get the full value of the car you duped. You get 50% of the money you spent on upgrades for the vehicle you’re duping. That’s why Benny’s and Arena War vehicles are the best to dupe: they have the most upgrade cost, so 50% of that is still a lot.

Normal Purchase Sell Value: 60%

For comparison: any vehicle you bought (not duped) sells for 60% of what you paid. Buy a car for $1M and you get $600k when you sell it right after. If you bought it on discount, you get 60% of that discounted price—even after the discount ends.

Best Vehicle to Dupe for Money

As of the community FAQ (and still commonly cited), a fully maxed Arena War Issi is one of the best dupes for money—selling for around 1.8 million per dupe with max upgrades. On PC, if the dupe glitch saves 100%, the sale price may be reduced somewhat due to Rockstar’s anti-dupe measures, but the logic is the same: more upgrade cost = higher dupe sell value.

Summary

Duped vehicle sell value = 50% of the upgrades you put on the car you’re duping. The game treats the sale as the donor vehicle, so only upgrade value counts. For the highest return, dupe fully upgraded Benny’s or Arena War vehicles.
