Around the time this page launched, Rockstar began permanently banning GTA Online accounts that sit AFK in Bad Sport sessions / jobs — something these helpers have done for years. Whether that’s a new enforcement push, a mass-reporting exploit, or both, we don’t know for sure.
Some of these tags carried play history and real friendships. They took the fall so glitching and parts of the speedrunning community could keep using an old exploit Rockstar still hasn’t patched.
Lifespans used to be measured in much longer stretches. Some AFK helpers have lasted under an hour before a permanent ban — the shortest we’ve seen.
AFK helpers stay parked in a Bad Sport session so others can join and run glitches that need an alert host — vehicle merges and transfers, teleports, GCTF, and plenty of other setups. A notable name in that history is Anawack, who has set up various AFK accounts across all console platforms.
This page is a living list of community helpers who have kept making new accounts even when they know AFK time could possibly end up with a permanent ban.

Nobody has to — another thing that is so beautiful. Helpers like Ray, someone who created an account for the Xbox community, did it because they want to, and it’s a part of something bigger — the same way names like Anawack made space for others before them. Watching someone halfway across the world finally merge a car the way they imagined, or even give a vehicle to a friend for free.
GTA Online might only be a parody of real life, but these accounts allow people a little extra creative freedom and a place that feels like a community. Messages of thanks from strangers are often what turns “I’ll try it for a bit” into something people love doing.
